Vidalia or yellow onions are best sweet flavored onions for making onion rings. The white is not so preferable due to less sweetness in it. Also try to avoid red onions as they have too much of a bite to be a good fryer onion.

Breading the Onion Rings:

Now dip onion rings one by one in the flour mixture and coat well. Then dip into the egg mixture, fully coat with breadcrumbs and place breaded onion rings to a plate.

Air Fry the Onion Rings:

You can use a non-stick cooking spray to spray the air fryer basket and the onion rings. Place onion rings in a single layer air fryer basket and fry at 350°F for 5 minutes. Change the sides of onion rings and fry again for another 5 minutes. When ready, place them on a plate and repeat the process for all the onion rings.
