Spicy Crab Cakes with Dipitt Mayonnaise

Spicy Crab Cakes Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh Dungeness crab meat, picked over and drained
  • 4-5 slices white bread
  • 3/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Dipitt Tabasco sauce
  • 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh or dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper

Spicy Crab Cakes Recipe Preparation

Make Breadcrumbs:

The make breadcrumbs make big chunks bread after chopping and place in a food processor to pulse it. You almost need 4 cups. Then place the pulsed breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl and stir in ½ cup.

Process crab cake:

In a food processor, put lemon juice, mustard, celery seeds, black pepper, Dipitt Tabasco sauceWorcestershire sauce, mustard, paprika, thyme, egg yolk and pulse until blended.

While the food processor is running, add a thin stream of olive oil through the feed tube until the sauce blends in it and then shift the mixture in a large bowl. Put chopped onion, bell pepper, ¼ cup of parsley in the bowl. Gently fold in the cracked crab meat, half of the breadcrumb mixture and do not over blend. Then make patties and coat in remaining breadcrumbs.

Prepare six crab cakes patties very cautiously and coat them in the remaining breadcrumbs.

Now you need to cover them with plastic wrap and put in a refrigerator for at least an hour.

Fry crab cakes:

Use a large non-stick frying pan or skillet and put 2 tablespoon of butter in it on medium heat. Now fry crab cakes 4 to 5 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and heated through. You can add more butter to the pan if necessary and put them in a plate when ready. Your spicy crab cakes are super ready to serve with Dipitt mayonnaise and enjoy.
